Issue Areas
As part of the interest-based bargaining process used in these negotiations, bargaining issues have been selected by the CIC.
Subgroups of the CIC then examine data and explore management and union interests with respect to these issues, and make a unified recommendation to the CIC on how the next national agreement will address their issue. In addition to wages and benefits, these are the issues which will be bargained in 2010 and are listed below.
The subgroups began the work of identifying union, management, and joint issues in their area. Once that work is complete, they will examine data and generate options to address interests. The plan is that by the conclusion of the third session of national bargaining on May 6, each subgroup will report a joint recommendation to the entire CIC on how the next national agreement will address their topic.
